The North American continent with topography as seen from space, international borders, 15° latitude and longitude grid, in Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area projection. It shows both land cover as it appears in the month of August and bathymetry, both in brilliant color and in unparalleled detail.
This satellite image map is the most accurate and up to date such map available today. The land imagery is based on data collected by NASA's MODIS satellite instrumentation in August 2004. Ocean bathymetry is derived from GEBCO (General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans), 2003. Polar sea ice is based on a combination of sources including MODIS data.
Thousands of the continent's physical features such as the Grand Canyon, Arizona and the enormous Manicouagan crater in Quebec can be clearly identified.
The Wall Map of North America Topography and Bathymetry is printed on 24lb. premium coated bond paper. It is also laminated on both sides using 3mm hot lamination, which protects your wall map and allows you to write on it with dry-erase markers.
