Citrus County is a county in the U.S. state of Florida. Located on the western side of the Florida Peninsula, Citrus County used to be a part of Hernando County. As of 2010 the population was 141,236. The largest city in the county is Homosassa Springs, while the Citrus County seat is Inverness. other cities within the county include Crystal River, Beverly Hills, Citrus Springs and Pineola.
